There are six different community recreation centers open to the public (memberships or day passes required). Each has an indoor gymnasium, indoor swimming pool and facilities for various sports and activities. These recreation centers offer everything from tennis, golf, bowling, handball and volleyball, to aerobics, swimming, soccer and more for patrons of all ages.

There are 208 parks in Hampton Roads stretching over more than 4,000 acres of unspoiled natural beauty. There are community parks, district parks, neighborhood parks and open spaces where folks of all ages can enjoy ballparks, picnic areas and playgrounds. There are even two dog parks where you can take your favorite four-legged friend for a walk off the leash and some interaction with other canines.
